You'll probably notice that part 3 seems out of place. It's probably because I can relate to the first two parts but too much time passed by since the I wrote the first two and it no longer relates to me anymore. Also it ended up more storyboard then a play script.
The dark blue finally arrives at a small sky blue house at a cul de sac. Jim and Karen walks up to the door. As Jim starts to put his key in, he hears some type of noise inside the house. He pauses for a moment and then decides to open the door. The lights turn on suddenly...
8 people inside the home
Surprise! Welcome back!
Jim
A surprise party? Suppose I had ninjas stars on me, you all would have been dead by now
Jim starts to smile brightly as he is greeted individually by his friends. Hours pass as the party went on.
Male Friend 1 (light heartedly)
They didn't make you do some prison stuff did they?
Jim
This type of prison was the nicest prison I have ever seen. Everything was white and clean and each cell had their own bathroom and shower. If they had a better bed and room service, it would have been a vacation
Male Friend 2
What? No way, that's nothing like the time when I went to jail I mean...
Jim starts to notice Karen looking at him from across the room as she started to go up the stairs
Jim
Excuse me guys
Jim wades through a few people and walks up the stairs. He opens his bedroom door to see Karen sitting on the side of a bed
Karen
I thought you weren't going to notice
Jim (as he sits next to her)
You don't like the party
Karen (giving a shocked look with a slight smile)
Are you that naive, of course I like the party
Karen stands up and throws a pillow at Jim and then he immediately throws the pillow back. Karen turns her head to avoid it but still hits her. They get into a friendly scuffle with pillow fighting and wrestling until a framed Diploma falls from the walls. They both stop and stare at the fallen frame.
Jim
Hehe, oops. Sounds like the glass might have cracked.
Jim gets up and starts to pick up the frame. He scans it but realizes something is wrong.
Jim
(I can't... read what's on the diploma, I can't figure it out. The letters are right here.)
Jim sets the framed diploma aside and picks up a book from the desk and starts to flip through the pages with a concerned look.
Jim
(is this what they did to me? Doesn't make sense, to stop someone from reading would be a weird punishment)
Karen
Is something the matter?
Jim
Nothing that I can quite put my finger on
Karen
You know, you worrying me a bit. And you seem a bit high strung. (grabs Jim's hand) C'mon
Karen leads Jim back downstairs, goes into the kitchen and prepares him a cocktail. The party continued late into the night as everyone was enjoying each other's company. Eventually friends started to leave the house one by one and then Jim was walking the final guest to the door. After closing the door, he notices a DVD case on the night stand. He recognizes the picture on the cover.
Jim
We still have this?
Karen
Oops, we usually return it after we finish watching it so I forgot to return it.
Jim
I probably own this now. Want to watch it?
Karen
Sure
After Jim sat down, Karen put her head underneath Jim's arm. Before the movie starts...
Jim
So... um, does that mean I'm the only guy you're dating now?
Karen
This again? Right now I am seeing two guys?
Jim
Oh, do I know them?
Karen
One of them is currently watching a movie with me, the other guy is the one I didn't choose
Karen smacks her hand on Jim's chest
Karen (with a smile)
Now shut up and watch the movie.
The movie plays with the volume at the right setting, the glow from the TV seem to give the room ambient lighting as the couple watches the movie next to each other. The surroundings felt very comfortable as Karen starts to fall asleep on Jim. Eventually Jim notices, stares at her for a bit with a smile and then starts to look around his home that seem so familiar. Everything was in place and the world was a good place to live in.
The glow from the TV seems to brighten causing Jim to squint. Suddenly he felt lethargic all around his body and his surroundings seem fuzzy. The next thing Jim sees is a circular light attached to the ceiling and a small pain in his left arm. Jim was finally able to focus his eyes to see where the pain is coming from and he sees a syringe pulling a needle out from his bicep. The man holding the syringe has a wrinkled face that he have seen before that he never wanted to see again.
Dr. Povok
For a second there, I thought you weren't going to wake.
Jim eyes widen and tears immediately start to appear
Dr. Povok
I'm guessing that means the procedure was a success. That girl's father was very upset at you, it's not good to make important people angry Mr. Richeart. From what I hear, you were dating her but it was obvious that you liked her more than she liked you. She never made a commitment, instead she couldn't decide which one of you she wanted. You couldn't wait, you got very drunk, tried to drive her home and then she ended up dieing in a hospital. She had her whole life ahead of her but you control your feelings. I hope that...
Dr. Povok pauses as he looks at Jim's eyes but Jim never looked back, instead his eyes stared off into space with no reaction. The doctor seemed to have felt a small amount of remorse but signaled the guards to take Jim back. Jim didn't react when the restraints were loosened and slowly walked back to his cell without a word.
Back in the cell
Mark (pauses for a long time trying to find something to say)
You okay man?
Jim didn't respond and stares into space
Mark
umm.... ya
After a week, Jim's sentence is finally over. He signs his release papers silently and is led to the gates outside the facility. Outside there wasn't anyone there to greet him and he slowly started to walk away from the compound. After that day, nobody has seen Jim Richeart.
